I know this is not the usual format of WINGS, but I wanted to keep it simple this month, as I know this is a hectic time for many folks.
Before we close the books on December, and the year, I want to take a
moment to send out this abbreviated holiday issue just to say, Thank you!
If you visit my blog
(or see me on Facebook), you know that this week, I was doing my annual
calendar rituals -- looking ahead, but also looking back, just like
Janus, for whom the upcoming month is named.
It has been an extraordinary year, and I am so grateful because it is all thanks to you.
In 2011, I kicked off the year by publishing a small, but (judging from
your responses) popular booklet about 2011 being the Tarot Year of the
Emperor.
I also started publishing my monthly Tarot column at the famed Meta Arts Magazine.
Thank you for all the great suggestions and feedback you are giving me,
especially on my series examining the Tarot profiles of the U.S.
presidential candidates.
This year, in response to your recommendations, I taught a total of
eleven different classes, including my first-ever online workshops. I
had a blast, with some of the most talented, wise, beautiful souls
participating - truly a teacher's dream come true!
Most of my classes this year were part of my Tools for Transition
series -- workshops that I have designed to help you build the skills
needed for these times of great personal and global change. My courses
also included my two Spring and Fall introductory Tarot classes.
In my next issue, I'll be announcing the upcoming workshop schedule for early 2012, including the much-requested "Reading for Others" Tarot class. Want to know what else? Okay, here's a tiny hint (thanks to your suggestions): Dreams. Stay tuned!
Interest in my Soul Card kits
continues to be high, and, with my friend Joanna Powell Colbert's
permission, I have been delighted to offer additional versions that I
created specifically for the Soul Cards of her glorious Gaian Tarot.
I have continued to serve on the Board of Directors for Cherry Hill Seminary, which is my great honor and pleasure. The demand for trained, recognized, graduate-level Pagan pastoral professionals is huge.
Cherry Hill is not only the first and only provider of such training,
but I can honestly say that every single one of its courses and
professors are of the highest imaginable academic and professional
caliber.
Closer to home, our local Tarot group, Triangle Tarot and Friends
(also known as the Raleigh-Durham Tarot Meetup) continues to thrive.
Even in spite of moving our web host from Meetup.com in February, only
to return in November!
Thanks to our fabulous local and global membership, we are the oldest,
and one of the largest, most successful strictly Tarot Meetups in the
world! The highlight of this year had to have been our intimate and
inspiring hour and a half video Skype chat with the one and only (and most generous!) Mary K. Greer.
On my end, I continue to hone my skills and expand my knowledge in order to be of better service to you. This year, I have attended lots
of workshops, webinars and invested in self-study courses to help me
enrich my Tarot knowledge, my intuitive skills, and my teaching mastery.
Then, just as this year was drawing to a close and I thought it couldn't get any better, I was honored that this very newsletter, WINGS, was named Tarot Newsletter of the Year,
by the marvelous Theresa Reed (aka - The Tarot Lady). Wow! Thank you so
much, Theresa, and everyone who takes the time to read and enjoy this
labor of love!
Of course, this particular issue of WINGS is not the usual
format, so if you have recently signed up to see what all the buzz is about,
you will have to wait a bit for a more "normal" edition in January.
My newsletter service, iContact, is ending its "community archive" for
back issues. But you can visit my Blogspot location and find all the
back issues (although some are in a fairly funky format, due to some
HTML migration weirdness).
So, the point of this little update is what (I hope!) makes it different from most of those other holiday newsletters you get from family and friends.
Because I am writing all of this, not really to fill you in on the story of me. But to tell you that it's the story of you!
You -- my clients, friends, students, colleagues, and associates -- are the stars of this most fun, most soul-stirring, most blessed time ever!
I wish I could list all the names of the hundreds of people
who have most touched my spirit this year and been such a powerful gift
in my life. But I will just start by thanking you.
Thank you with all my heart.
Happy New Year!
Love,
Beth
