2008: The Wheel of Fortune
As you may know from some of my articles, or if you are in my Birthday Club, the numerology of your birthday, or of a particular year, may correspond to the Tarot, specifically the Major Arcana (the trumps). Using this system, we can learn about some general traits and patterns that can be anticipated in a given year.
This year, 2008, is 2+0+0+8, which equals 10.Based on the Major Arcana, this is the year of the Wheel of Fortune.
The first thing we may have noticed this year is that it will bring a major shift from last year, which was more inner-directed, when a feeling of introspection, soul-searching, and even isolation prevailed. Now, the global energy changes radically, and events are very likely to be dramatic.
This may be a time of surprises, when old patterns, friends and even enemies not seen in a long time may pop up. There may be a wave of nostalgia for the “good old days,” yet there will be an equal push for growth and change towards the future.
In fact, the hallmark of a Wheel of Fortune year is that it is a major turning point. Many who have been working, praying, meditating and energizing the transition of our planet from the Piscean to the Aquarian Age may find that this is the year when their labors are much more visible, and real progress can be made.
But the end of the old paradigm is clearly not willing to pass quietly, so buckle your seat belts, folks. This Ferris Wheel of Fortune may spin faster and less smoothly than we would like, with even the occasional rude reversal.
One of the most obvious and dramatic events that will have us “up in the air” this year is the American presidential election. Whether you are a citizen of the U.S. or not, you know that this election will be affecting your fate in many ways for years to come.
For Americans, the wheel of destiny now spins, and we will recognize that there are forces at work that are out of our hands. Beware of those who would try to cheat at the game, for, if ignored, they can bring calamity upon us all.
The only constant is change, and the winds of fortune may well be fickle in this year. Yet, in this flux, opportunities will open that we may not see again for a very long time. Be prepared to act quickly while fortune smiles, although it may entail upheaval.
This is a powerful year for relocating, changing jobs, or making other life-altering choices. And it is a particularly favorable time for educational pursuits, publishing and other kinds of communication, as well as initiating new projects.
Ultimately, the Wheel of Fortune demands that we set aside pettiness of any sort, and focus on the big picture. The fate of the world may well depend upon our clarity, our good will, and our participation. As long as we are committed to integrity, honesty, and to act for the highest good of all, luck will be with us.
